Academic
Qualification:
Prof.
Bhatnagar had done M.A.(Economics) ,B.Com.,
from Punjab University , Chandigarh and
was a University Rank holder in
both the examinations. He had done Post
Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management
and Industrial Relations from Bhartiya
Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh. He had also
done C.A.I.I.B with distinction.
Experience
Prof. Bhatnagar taught Economics in a
college for about 6 months before joining
Bank of India as a Probationary Officer
in August, 1970. Bank of India is the
second largest Public Sector Bank in India
today. He rose to the Rank of Deputy General
Manager in Top Executive Cadre and was
the 19th senior most Executive in
the bank (having close to 40000 employees)
at the time of his retirement in December,2008.
His last assignment in the bank was as
Deputy General Manager and Zonal Manager
Howrah Zone, Kolkatta , West Bengal.
During his service in the bank he has
held important positions as Chief Manager,
Assistant General Manager and Deputy General
Manager at various branches/Zonal Offices
and at Bank’s Head Office
in India and abroad. He was on deputation
to Commonwealth Finance Corporation Ltd.
Hong kong as its CEO for more than 3 years.
During his long innings with Bank of India
he has also worked as Senior Faculty and
Principal in bank’s premier Training
colleges at Chandigarh and Noida for seven
plus years. He has visited U.S.A ,China
, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan
.
He brings with him rich experience
in all areas of Banking including in particular
Credit both Corporate and Retail, Risk
Management, Management Audit and Foreign
Exchange. His work as CEO of CFCL Hong
Kong was appreciated by Hong Kong Monetary
Authority, Hong Kong. He has been writing
for Bank’s Quarterly magazine
TARANGAN regularly and some of his articles
have led to Bank receiving
awards from all India organizations
in the category of HRM. He has successfully
implemented many innovative initiatives
at branches, offices and Training College
and has led the Change Management from
the front. He has been rated as an outstanding
Executive in the Bank.
Awards
Prof. Bhatnagar was awarded the Gold Medal
for standing First in PGDPMIR by
Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Chandigarh. He had
received over one hundred Awards and Appreciation
Letters in 38 plus years of
service with the Bank.
