Master of Business Economics (MBE)
 
Asia-Pacific Institute of Management Studies (AIMS) offers Master of Business Economics (MBE) in affiliation with Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, established in 1969. Guru Nanak Dev University is reckoned today amongst the top 10 universities of India. National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous institution of the UGC, accredited the University at the “Five Star Level”. Guru Nanak Dev University is known to encourage students to push their a intellectual capacities to the limit. MBE is 2-year full-time programme comprising of 4 semesters. The focus of the MBE programme is to provide advance training in economic analysis and tools to equip the students to comprehend the challenges of business and management. The learning process through case studies and business situations puts the student in a better position to understand theoretical economics in business context. The course further requires summer training at the end of 2nd semester.

Organisational Principles and Behaviour
Seminar (on a topic based on any paper in 1st Semstster)*

2nd Semester

Operations Research
Banking and Foreign Exchange Management
Industrial Structure, Organisation and Policy
Consumer Behaviour and Marketing Management
Comprehensive Viva Voce (Based on Papers taught in semester I & II)*

3rd Semester

International Trade and Business Procedures
Advertising and Sales Management
Investment Theory and Portfolio Management
Indian and Global Economic Environment

4th Semester

Project Appraisal and Investment Planning
Labour Economics and Industrial Relations

Project Report (Title will be allocated in III semesters)
Comprehensive Viva Voce (Based on the Papers taught in III & IV semesters)

Summer Training

The M.B.E. Programme requires the students to undergo 6- 8 weeks of compulsory summer training at the end of 2nd semester

The student is required to submit a report at the beginning of 3rd semester

*Seminar/Comprehensive Viva Voce in each semester will be of 50 marks and shall be conducted by a committee comprising the Head, External Examiner and a Member to be appointed by the B.O.C.

Eligibility

All aspiring candidates must :-

Be a Graduate in any stream including engineering with at least 50% marks in aggregate or International examination system recognised as equivalent thereto by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Selection Process

The selection of the student is based on the Entrance Exam, which includes a written test followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Analytical Capabilities, Communication Skills and Desire to Excel receive credit in admission.

Application Procedure

The prospectus and application can be obtained from the Admissions office on payment of Rupees twelve Hundred (Rs. 1200/-) in cash or Rs. 1250/- by a demand draft drawn in favour of Asia-Pacific Institute of Management, payable at New Delhi. For NRI-sponsored/ International candidates, the amount payable is US $50. The fee for prospectus and application form will not be refunded under any circumstance.
